With classic titles like Bionic Commando and Super Street Fighter II Turbo seeing high-profile remakes coming this spring, it seems that what once was old is new again. Here’s a list of great remakes that build on their original counterparts, making them worthy of a second look:

 

Prince of Persia Classic
Rebuilding the original early 90’s classic from scratch, the developers applied brand new graphics in the Prince’s familiar setting for a worthy downloadable title.
Mega Man Powered Up
One of the best Mega Man games in a while, Powered Up is a great portable version of the revered classic, presenting new 3D graphics while keeping the old-school difficulty.
Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes
Snake's first mission on the PS1 gets ported over to the GameCube, offering great new controls and improved graphics.
