PlayStation Eye and EyeCreate Now Available

Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. today announced the release of PLAYSTATION Eye, EyeCreate and THE EYE OF JUDGMENT available exclusively for PLAYSTATION 3.

PLAYSTATION Eye is set to revolutionize the experience of both interactive gaming and online communication on PLAYSTATION Network. Building on the revolutionary EyeToy USB camera for PlayStation 2, the sophistication of PLAYSTATION Eye naturally complements the advanced features and capabilities of the PS3 system. The PLAYSTATION Eye offers a four microphone array, featuring multidirectional voice location tracking, enhanced echo canceling and background noise suppression, which allows for clear audio chat in even the noisiest environments. The PLAYSTATION Eye also features a frame rate of up to 120 frames per second, allowing for super-smooth video and sophisticated low light operations.

THE EYE OF JUDGMENT will be bundled with PLAYSTATION Eye and will also be sold separately.

In addition, SCEA will make EyeCreate editing software available for free download via PLAYSTATION Network. EyeCreate is a video capturing and editing program exclusive to PLAYSTATION 3 and PLAYSTATION Eye. EyeCreate also enables users to capture video and audio clips, which can be exported to the PS3 system’s hard drive, and to use a range of different capturing modes, including stop-motion and time-lapse.
