DREAMS COME TRUE Song to be Featured in Sonic the Hedgehog

“SWEET SWEET SWEET – 06 AKON MIX” by DREAMS COME TRUE will be featured for the music in Sonic The Hedgehog coming out on PLAYSTATION®3 and Xbox360

Today, Sega announces the use of the song “SWEET SWEET SWEET－06 AKON MIX－” by top Japanese artist DREAMS COME TRUE for the 15th anniversary title Sonic The Hedgehog.

The music used in the 1991 original Sonic The Hedgehog as well as in Sonic The Hedgehog 2, were both written by Mr. Nakamura of DREAMS COME TRUE. The song “SWEET SWEET SWEET” was created by adding lyrics to the ending theme of “Sonic The Hedgehog 2” ,which is included in the album “The Swinging Star”, released by DREAMS COME TRUE.

The ending theme of this year’s Sonic The Hedgehog, “SWEET SWEET SWEET － 06 AKON MIX －”, is a remixed version of the music used in “Sonic The Hedgehog 2”. Rearranged by the US top artist AKON, this new mix also features his signature vocals.

“Congratulations on Sonic’s 15th anniversary.,” remarked Mr. Nakamura, of DREAMS COME TRUE. “I’m happy that the music of DREAMS COME TRUE is going to be used for the 15th anniversary title, “Sonic The Hedgehog”. We rerecorded “SWEET SWEET SWEET” and had it arranged by the US top artist AKON, which made the song very cool fitting “Sonic The Hedgehog” very well.”

With the collaboration of DREAMS COME TRUE and AKON, the song takes on a reggae and-hip-hop flavor, which is sure to express Sonic’s attitude more than ever.
