Glink ItE3 2006 First Look Preview
Part of the excitement of this year’s E3 showcase was the unveiling of the PS3 system. One of the games that was shown on the system was by KOEI called Fatal Inertia, which looks like it is patterned similar to the Wipeout series.
Fatal Inertia really shows off the graphical power of the PS3, with one track in particular showing water splashes and some really nice looking waterfalls complete with mist effects. In addition, there were power-ups to collect to fire missiles at enemies or shoot lasers and such, again … similar to the Wipeout series, and the pops and small explosions of weapons on opponents vehicles looked really sharp.
For you fans of hovercar racing / combat titles, this might be a good game to watch for on your PS3. As a warning, it did run quite a bit slower than Wipeout or even Quantum Redshift … but looked really good.
